Tourism industry helps generate huge revenue for many global economies. Many economies depend tourism revenue as the main driver of economic prosperity and growth. Modern Day Tourism Tourism helps offer greater employment opportunities, promotes small and medium scale industries, helps sale of handicrafts and other locally manufactured products. Many industries such as transportation, hotel, retail shops and other hospitality sector businesses thrive totally relying on the tourism industry. So, tourism is a key driver of vibrant economic activity and progress to many global economies. Tourism industry is poised for a giant leap in the current decade on account of the sophistication and fabulous tourism experience it offers to the tourists. UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization Network) has forecasted a growth in international tourist arrivals between 3% and 4% in 2015. United Nations (UN) predicts that by the year 2020, the international tourists visits will double to 1.6 billion. Today, the business volume of tourism equals or even surpasses that of oil exports, food products or automobiles. This growth goes hand in hand with an increasing diversification and competition among destinations. Against this backdrop, the upcoming conference on tourism, hospitality and marketing in Mauritius aims at achieving the following objectives. Specifically, the conference aims to a) identify the key aspects that would help boost up tourism growth in individual economies; b) examine and strengthen such of those factors that would help increase greater tourism experience for tourists; c) provide an ideal platform for researchers, economists, tourism-related industry practitioners to share their research and practical experiences in all the major areas pertaining to tourism; and d) offer suitable solutions to ensure growth of the tourism and retail industries in addition to suggesting key features that would ensure best experience for tourists.
