One can be brilliant and successful professionally while at the same time struggling to be socially accepted. It is also a useful tool for management in its quest to be as useful as possible to the people who report to them. We identify specific aspects and how they manifest themselves in real people and we learn to recognize ways in which our EI can be improved. Finally we discover techniques for developing emotional intelligence and some of the measurement tools in common usage.
