This conference is designed for nurses, public health nurses, advanced practice providers, lactation consultants, lactation counselors, dietitians, social workers and students caring for the perinatal/neonatal population. The 2018 Mayo Clinic Perinatal Nursing Conference – Before, Birth, and Beyond is designed to address current clinical information for the care of pregnant women and families across the continuum. Highlights include: perinatal mood disorders including PTSD, new trends in prenatal care and childbirth and neonatal drug withdrawal. In support of improving patient care, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Participants can earn up to 7.25 ANCC nursing contact hours for attendance at the conference, commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity and completion of the evaluation. Mayo Clinic Section of Social Work has been designated by the Minnesota Board of Social Work as an approved continuing education provider.
