How Did We Get Here?
How Humanity Abused Philosophy, Religion and Science to Bring about Planetary Disaster and Totalitarian Lockdown
This book is about the journey that humanity has taken over the last 2500 years in its understanding of religion, philosophy and science to bring us to the brink of planetary destruction. It is intended for anyone with an interest in understanding religion, philosophy, the approach of modern medicine or the roots of our current climate crisis and ecocide. The book teaches that the roots of our current planetary crisis in the early 21st century stem well beyond the fossil fuel industry and actually have their origins in shifts in paradigms of religion, philosophy and science going back 2500 years all the way through the 20th and 21st centuries. The book helps to provide a root cause analysis to help comprehensively address humanity’s greatest problem of the 21st century in a unique manner that does not merely look at the abuses of corporations, humanity’s excessive use of plastic or even civilizational changes; rather, it looks at how our fallacies in understanding and our application of philosophy, religion and scientific medical understanding have taken humanity to the self-inflicted brink of planetary destruction and totalitarian lockdown.
WORDS OF PRAISE
Sohail Shakeri looks deeper into the ever-expanding destruction of the Earth's ecosystem, increasing levels of chronic conditions of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, depression, opioid addiction, and overall poor physical and mental health. At a fundamental level, these are all linked to our disconnection from the Divine. There is a Divine nature within all of us, but most have lost that connection due to arcane rules promoted by religions and the new religion of rampant materialism.
Reconnecting with this fundamental nature of positive energy and love creates a happiness that doesn’t require hierarchies or excessive consumption. Through this realization, we develop real inner joy, solving our widespread societal despair and resultant addictions. Simultaneously it results in a decrease in the massive exploitation of the Earth as we turn away from materialism and head in a new direction to understand all life’s sacredness. This is an important message that we all need to embrace and actualize if we genuinely want to solve today’s problems.
Sohail’s book ties together concepts under almost obvious concepts of healing our own nature and using love to solve some of the world’s most seemingly insurmountable problems. A journey we should all undertake if we are to make real and substantial changes.
